On the north of the island after passing the village Propouli and driving on dirt road, you will meet a unique landscape that impresses every visitor, the Farakla. It is an area with natural geological sculptures of unique beauty made by lava when it met water, millions of years ago. Rocks in peculiar forms, sometimes spherical, ochre or red in colour, expand over a hillside and end to the sea. The Farakla Geological Park receives many visitors every year.
